We are loving Spain!!❤️🇪🇸….. Such a beautiful countryside complete with amazing harbors & beaches, quaint villages, forts, castles , Churches and an intriguing History! We left off in Alicante……& there is Sooo much to see, are you ready? After following our Sat Nav to this non existent campsite , a nice man seeing our confusion, got out of his car & walked over to help us. 🙏 He directed us down this incredibly picturesque road to a lovely beachside campsite with a beautiful view and 2 pools in Isla Plana, just outside Cartegena!
The next day the bus took us along this beautiful beach & scenic drive over the mountain again into Cartagena to sightsee!
We climbed & climbed these stairs , unsure where they might lead…and suddenly This Roman Amphitheater opened up!!! 😜👏
And worth the hike further up the hill to see the remains of the Castillo de la Concepción & the stunning Cartegena harbor , city views & Old Town! Look how the Castillo blends into the mountain it sits on!
And this peacock put on a little show for us… mostly it was for the hen!!😍
Furthur on south check out this beautiful stretch of beach in Roquetas de Mar where we are camped. We walked way down to the Puerto Aguadulce harbor & this great Irish Pub and back which was even prettier at night! Paul is always happy with beaches, boats & beer!⛵️🍻 (And Sally❤️)
We love sightseeing, but we were ready for a little relaxing and we found it at Camping Don Cactus outside Motril. We belong to ACSI which is similar to Good Sam in the US, and many of the campsites have pools, bars, restaurants & even markets!👍 This one felt like a resort to us, with Castillo de Carchuna right next door too!🕍
We were totally enjoying Spain’s coastline but now it was time to head inland to Granada with its incredible Alhambra Palace & Granada Cathedral! These are so spectacular & impressive that it is very difficult to capture ….both literally took our breath away!! First is The Palace which we took a 3 hour guided tour through and 8 hours wouldn’t be enough! It is so massive & filled with intricate design, gardens, pools & mystic!
And the Granada Cathedral just cannot be captured with photos. Here is just a tiny bit but it really is something you have to feel!
On we went to Córdoba with its exquisite Roman Bridge, Mezquita Cathedral with 850 pillars & Alcazar Fortress which will completely take your breath away! Then we completely lost ourselves in the old town charm with narrow streets, patios & flowers of La Judería.
Turning back to the beach & magical Málaga! Here we were only halfway between fortress Alcazaba & Castillo de Gibralfaro! You can see the fortress walls & waaay at the very top is the Castle with even more spectacular views & worth the hike up! Then back down to the huge Cathedral begun in 1598. It’s massive, look how small Sally is by just the front door! The beauty & history of this town is amazing & intriguing! And finally home to Camping Almayate which we loved & just about a 30 minute scenic beach bus ride into Málaga. 🚌
Here is a 360 degree video we took on top at the Castle… The second one is when Sally forgot where we were, and the reason Paul & Sally are not professional videographers!😂 (only 7 seconds)
