3 Countries…1 Week… Snow, Wind & Sand‼️ ✈️ 🚐 🇬🇧 🇫🇷 🇪🇸 👏 😍

We left Sunny California on a wing and a prayer…knowing  ( sort of😂) we were headed into European Winter! ❄️❄️❄️

But not knowing we would be snowbound….☃️🚐☃️.  Fortunately, we arrived in London & picked up Flybye one day  before the big snow arrived!   Here we were in Dover with storm clouds gathering!!😬

So we headed South to take the ferry from The White Cliffs of Dover to Calais, France!  🚢🇬🇧➡️🇫🇷 We were very excited to be adventuring again in  Flybye, however  also looking forward to better weather as it was even too cold to sightsee!🤪

Hmm, now we are in France …and we discover EVERYTHING IS DIFFERENT!  We are driving right again which is very good but we are having trouble locating an RV spot & of course trying to communicate in very limited French!  So here we are following our Sat Nav to a non existent RV Park!

Weather getting worse & night growing longer, fortunately we located  it with Sally’s Apple Maps!   And somehow we managed to communicate with a lovely French manager who directed us to this spot  & soon we looked out at THIS! ❄️☃️❄️  Pont-Authou, France

Yes, really!  Later we learned we were very fortunate to find this open as most French RV parks are CLOSED until May!!😱 ( Notice no other RV’s).   Fortunately by noon it warmed slightly to 35 degrees & the roads cleared enough for us to beeline SOUTH! Mostly we had good roads, and thought we were out of it with blue skies ahead……but NO! Adventure night 3 began….,Bosgouet, France

At least we are along the motorway this time so by morning it’s clear enough to drive!  Happily we continue on to these lovely  blue skies & sunshine right up until we pull into this inviting mountain Inn.    We checked the ever changing forecast & see snow will begin soon & continue for at least a WEEK!  Yikes!😱 And sure enough it starts, so we continued down the mountain in the snowy dark!😬 …..Aumont-Aubrac, France.

We arrived safely down & out of the snow and really can’t wait to get to the sunny Mediterranean Coast of Spain!!  So we beat feet 400 miles to come around the corner to THIS!!  It brought happy tears to our eyes, maybe yours too?😁😊😍👏 Port-Vendres, France.

But as you can see, it’s still VERY COLD & WINDY!  Like wind 55 mph and wind chill of 26 degrees!    So we found a lovely harbor spot & Sally only asked Paul about 100 times if the wind would blow Flybye over.  It really was howling… Night 4!🌪 Sally tried opening the door for a photo & the wind almost ripped it OFF!….. Paul succeeded!👍 Argeles-sur-Mer, France.

So, we continue in huge wind the next day to SPAIN!  The snow & wind behind us and getting warmer, we splurge on a hotel & regroup for the next adventure!  Feeling blessed & happy we thoroughly enjoy Tarragona and Roman Amphitheater , a hotel with a view & BATHTUB!!🙏   Tarragona, Spain

Through snow, sleet , very high winds & freezing temperatures with grateful, happy hearts we finish off our first week back in Europe with Flybye!❤️🙏🚐    Next it’s South along The Med which Sally has wanted to see her whole life!🙏🤗.   Till then Happy Trails & God Bless!🚐🙏

  1. Love following your travels, it’s almost (almost) like I am there. Good thing I wasn’t because last Sunday I fractured my right foot (just walking, no tripping, falling, twisting!) At least I am in a boot and not on crutches…. i was a real huge danger to myself trying to manipulate on crutches. I have great support here in The Groves, so I am doing ok. Love you and keep enjoying and writing I love your travels. Hugs & Kisses
