The Oregon Coast….Has So Much to Boast!🌲

Have you noticed that every State has a different coastline?  As we continued up Hwy 101 thru the California Redwoods and on into Oregon the difference was dramatic!    Here you will find beautiful evergreen forests that extend right down to the beach and even on to the sea stacks  at times!   Wonder what a sea stack is?  It’s a geological rock formation in the sea & the Oregon coast has so many…..often growing evergreen trees!  From  exciting hangliding & hiking  to relaxing beach combing & tidepooling!   There are many intriguing lighthouses to explore like Heceta Head Lighthouse in Florence, Oregon.     The Beautiful Oregon Coast really does have so much to boast!

A sunny day on the Oregon Coast will make you forget the many days of overcast & fog in The Pacific Northwest! While those sunny days are spectacular,  this shoreline will delight you even on gray, foggy days with small friendly beach towns , secret coves to explore and  miles of quiet,  secluded beaches to walk.  The clouds are just rolling into North Bend here, which borders Coos Bay & the two are often referred to as “Coos Bay-North Bend “or The  “Bay Area”…….

105FC446-92C7-4BEF-ADEC-FDC9C15F53ED The Oregon Coast is a string of small towns with Coos Bay being the largest , sporting a population of only around 16,000 people.  We stayed at the Charleston Marina & RV  Park because Paul really enjoys being in a harbor!  It became one of those grayish days, but its a lovely walk on the docks & the adjoining beach!   If you you like small quaint harbors & boats, this one is for you & even has its own restaurants !

Paul likes ALL boats and when we walked through a nearby shipyard he actually said, “ this one is good, just needs a little work!” 😱  Can you believe it?😂😂😂

152A1FEF-409D-4F62-AA84-48F8C57205ADOn we went up the coast to Florence where we found the Best little Diner!  We seek out the best  local eateries & using our sure fire method of locating the one with the most parked cars …..we struck gold again!  The Little Brown Hen Cafe where the home style food is delicious & the staff makes you feel like part of the family.   Especially if you like all day breakfast, don’t miss this one!

This route will quickly cure any feelings of melancholy….wait till you see!  Till then, Happy Trails and God Bless.🙏
